Kenya Samburu AA

Kenya Samburu AA is a high altitude coffee renowned for its' bright acidity, fruit forward flavour profiles and complex back end finish. The "AA" designation signifies that the beans are extra-large (17/18 screen size), and are typically grown in the rich volcanic soils near Mount Kenya.

This highly sought after coffee is mostly comprised of the SL28, SL34 and Bourbon varieties specifically suited to the Kenyan growing climate. Adding to this, the care taken on the farm and in the wash plant deliver us an impeccable raw ingredient to then roast attentively to extract the very best attributes the origin can offer. 

Our roaster Alex experimented with several roasting approaches, finally settling on a light, nordic style roast profile which, when well managed and executed, has produced our best Kenyan coffee to date. Juicy blackberry and blueberry notes delivered with a crisp, winey mouthfeel and floral, vibrant undertones. An excellent representation of what the Kenyan terroir has to offer and one we can't wait for you to try!
