Mexico - Finca Muxbal

This stunning speciality coffee hails from Finca Muxbal in Mexico where the rich volcanic soils and high altitude of the plantation provide unique and fertile growing conditions that permeate through into the cup. The warm, humid environment is so prevalent in the local region that the name ‘Muxbal’ literally translates to ‘place surrounded by clouds’ in the local mame dialect.

The farm is currently managed by a mother and son team of Maeggi Rodriguez and Jorge Gallardo, who took it over from their father Don Enrique who bought it in 1959. This intergenerational devotion to the plantation and constant progression of growing, harvesting and land management has resulted in Rainforest Alliance accreditation and a 100% audit result from the awarding body….a first for any Mexican coffee producer.
